A beautiful and rare 'Fairy Cobwebs' Bouquet shape vase by Royal Winton. A yellow haired fairy sits in the branch of a flowering cherry tree. Dressed in shades of pink with wings tinged with yellow, pink and green. Two green butterflies fly nearby and behind her is a gold cobweb. All the detail is also outlined in gold. The background colour is a lovely deep blue which contrasts well with the hand painted colours. In great condition; no cracks or restoration and the gilding is in fine order, showing little signs of wear. Only points to mention are a small factory blemish on the reverse rim (see image 4), which looks like it was touching something in the kiln, and some mild crazing noticeable to the base. A very scarce item that still displays superbly. Circular Grimwades, Royal Winton mark, with impressed shape and painted pattern number 2351 in gold. Height 16cm (6.25in)
