Rare Greener Purple Malachite Slag Glass 'Bird on Branch' Aesthetic Movement Jug c1880

A rare purple malachite glass jug in the aesthetic movement style by Henry Greener. Alternating panels of a bird on a branch on a hexagonal shape, on three feet and a 'twig' handle. Very fine depth of colour and good marbling.  A rare example of the aesthetic style, unusual for Greener. In excellent condition with moulded first lion trademark on the interior base c1877-1880. Height 9.5cm (3.75in)
