Rare George Jones Majolica 'Pineapple' Serving Dish c1880

A superb George Jones majolica shallow dish or platter modelled with four pineapples and overlapping leaves on a basket weave ground. The reverse is just as lovely with a fine mottled tortoiseshell glaze. Bright naturalistic colours and in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear or use. A rare piece to find, especially in such good order. Impressed George Jones monogram. Length 30cm (11.75in)
