A lovely 'Gondoliers' Whieldon glazed rack plate showing a scene of Venice with gondolas in the foreground and St. Mark's in the background. Printed in sepia with details in green and white enamel, which looks particularly good with this special glaze. The whole framed by a border of scrolls and anthemion. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Fine and clean age related crazing and some kiln marks typical of these wares, though nothing to detract. Impressed and printed marks. Diameter 24cm (9.45in)
