Rare Early Mason's Patent Ironstone China 'Japan Basket' Pattern Jardinière c1815 (Sold)

A superb Mason's 'Japan Basket' pattern octagonal jardinière printed in underglaze blue with the detail painted in iron red. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration (the small line on the underside base does not go through to the other side and is just in the very surface glaze).  A rare hand made shape with four drainage holes, the potting is slightly uneven in profile and full of character. Early impressed 'MASONS PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA' mark. Height 19cm (7.5in), width 21cm (8.25in)
