Rare Don Pottery 'Named Italian Views' Large Tureen and Cover c1820

A large and impressive Don Pottery tureen with lion finial. Printed in medium blue with two scenes from the series on the cover and 'View in the valley of Oretho near Palermo' inside the base. On the exterior of the base are two other part scenes from the series. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some minor signs of glaze wear under the rim and on the base, but nothing to detract from this very rare item.Base with printed Lion holding 'Don' banner and impressed '11'.
