A titled scene 'Obelisk at Catania' and a rare one to find in this Don Pottery series. Printed in a medium blue with the famous elephant and obelisk fountain opposite the Duomo in Catania, Sicily. Framed by a border of flowers against a stipple ground with leaves and two prominent putti holding garlands. In excellent condition, showing little sign of wear and no chips, cracks or restoration. Lovely pearlware blue rippled glaze and no foot rim. Unmarked. John Leslie Antiques label. Diameter 25.5cm (10in)
