Information
A finely modelled classical figure of a shepherd preparing to shear a ram. Representing 'Summer', it's in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. This rarely seen study is thought to be one of a set of Roman Seasons, and is shown alongside 'Autumn' in The Parian Phenomenon page 168, fig 555, although his shears are missing in the book. Impressed COPELAND. Height 24.2cm (9.5in)
