Rare Charles Meigh Stone China 'Amherst Japan' Pattern Jug c1840

A lovely 'Amherst Japan' scroll handled jug by Charles Meigh of Hanley. Nicely painted in iron red and cobalt blue with highlights in yellow ochre. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little signs of wear. A rare size (holds just over a pint) that displays beautifully. Printed 'Amherst Japan Stone China' and painted pattern number 62 in red. Height at handle 14cm (5.5in)
