Rare Burleigh Ware 'Lemon Tree' Zenith Breakfast Set c1930
One of the loveliest of Burleigh Ware designs produced on the classic art deco Zenith shape. 'Lemon Tree' is a vibrant combination of blues, yellow and red; an uncommon colourway for this period. A border of blue and red 'dashes' frames the stylised lemon tree. A fine breakfast set with two cups and saucers, lemon or biscuit plate, jug and basin. In great undamaged condition, showing little sign of wear and minor crazing in places (mainly to plate and saucers, typical of these wears, though barely noticeable). Various 'Burleigh Ware' and 'Zenith' marks. Height of jug 7cm (2.75in), diameter of plate 15.25cm (6in)
