A finely detailed Parian bust of Ophelia by the short-lived partnership of Bates, Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. of Shelton (1859-61). In this two year period they became renowned for the high quality of their Parian models and this lovely study depicts Shakespeare's character with a garland of water lilies in her flowing hair. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Impressed B.B.W.& M. Separate bolted socle. Height 24cm (9.4in)
