Information

A superb view of Harewood House in Yorkshire, showing the original Carr and Adam elevation before it was altered in 1843. The idyllic parkland scene (landscaped by Capabilty Brown in the 1770's) is framed by a deep border of passion flowers. In great condition, with the usual stilt marks and a minor transfer 'fault'  (a small white streak about 1cm near the bottom edge of the scene) to the front. The reverse has micro-crazing of the glaze and a small 'star crack' to the glaze which doesn't go through (see image 5). In general though, there is very little sign of wear, rare in this size platter as this is the medium size which tended to get most use. Marked 'Hare Hall, Yorkshire' on floral ribbon. Length 37.5cm (14.75in)
