Passion Flower Border Series 'Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire' Soup Plate c1825

The Passion Flower border series, by a maker as yet unidentified, comprises views of notable houses and seats in England and Ireland. Here it is Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland. The castle was built in the early 1800s and completed only 10 years before this lovely soup plate was made. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Printed cartouche backstamp with 'Belvoir Castle' on a ribbon. Diameter 25.4cm (10in)
