The Passion Flower border series, by a maker as yet unidentified, comprises views of notable houses and seats in England and Ireland. Here it is Belvoir Castle (now pronounced 'beaver') in Leicestershire, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland. The castle was built in the early 1800s and completed only 10 years before this plate was made. In excellent condition. Printed cartouche backstamp with 'Belvoir Castle' on a ribbon.
