A lovely pair of chinoiserie platters printed in medium blue with a central flower pot and two figures in a garden landscape framed by a distinctive floral border inset with charming oriental vignettes. The name Chinese Flowering Pot was given to the pattern many years ago, although it is also known as Gardener. One is in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. The other is also good with little sign of wear, though there is a glaze split on the reverse which doesn't go through - a manufacturing fault done at the time of firing (see image 5). Displays well and still very usable. Unmarked with a fine blue rippled glaze. Width 32.5cm (12.8in)
