Pair of Early Spode Stone China 'Japan' Pattern 2054 Pickle Dishes c1820

A superb pair of early Spode leaf moulded pickle dishes in 'Japan' pattern 2054. Underglaze blue print, with lots of overpainting by hand in iron red and touches of green. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. For accuracy, one has a tiny flake of enamel missing to the serrated edge, but you really have to look for this. Rare to find a pair, especially in such good order. Finely potted with a lovely blue rippled glaze. Both printed 'Spode's Stone China' pseudo Chinese mark in blue and painted pattern number 2054 in red. Length 12.75cm (5in)
