Information

A stunning pair of original Bizarre vases produced in the first few months of Clarice's designs being introduced (late 1927/early1928). Boldly painted with geometric bands of blue and green with triangles of red and blue creating a strong contrast. The design works beautifully on these 267 vases, which in themselves are a rare shape to find in the Bizarre range (an old Newport shape which was probably used up by the time Bizarre went into full production as they aren't illustrated in the shape catalogues). Both are in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. No oxidisation of the blue and showing little sign of wear or use. Fantastic to find a pair, especially in such good order. Printed Newport Pottery marks with the first handpainted Bizarre in rust and impressed shape numbers 267. Height 15.2cm (6in)
