A superb pair of Burmantofts faience triple handled vases designed by Joseph Walmsley. Decorated with moulded and incised Turkish tulips painted in lovely tones of green and pale blue on a deep cobalt blue ground. Beautiful colours and glaze which made Burmantofts famous as an art pottery. Both in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find a pair, especially in such good order. Classic English art nouveau pottery. Impressed Burmantofts Faience monograms with shape numbers 2247 and painted colour codes. Height 28cm (11in)

Please note, due to size and weight, they will probably be sent as two packages.

The same design on shape 2250 can be seen in the Bradford Museums Burmantofts exhibition catalogue (1983/84) page 60, item 128.
