Minton 'Vaux Japan' Pattern no.4 Sucrier & Cover c1840

A lovely Minton Japan pattern sucrier and cover with scrolled handles and floral finial. An underglaze cobalt blue design, with enamelling in red, green and yellow. Both pieces are in good order, no chips or cracks, though the interior of the base is heavily stained (see image 4), but fortunately does not come through. Displays very well. Marked 'Vaux Japan no.4' in cartouche. Height with cover 15.25cm (6in)
