Information

A superb Minton Secessionist Ware vase tube-lined in green with long stemmed white flowers on a turquoise glaze. Unusually, the flower stems have been block printed, a technique occasionally used by John Wadsworth on some of his designs. A lovely shape which shows the Charles Rennie Mackintosh influence to full effect. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some natural micro crazing typical of these wares and a couple of firing marks (stilt marks) to the foot rim (see image 5), though nothing to detract from this large and impressive example of art nouveau. Impressed MINTONS with date code for 1917. Height 29.25cm (11.5in)
