Minton Secessionist

The Secessionist range was first introduced by Leon Victor Solon in the early 1900s and subsequently developed by John Wadsworth from 1905 when he joined and Solon left the company. Wadsworth introduced new designs, more colours and continued the use of slip trailing (tube lining), together with other techniques such as embossed moulding and block printing. Decorators were encouraged to be bold and the use of thick lead glazes often produced runs and irregularities to give an art pottery hand made finish to items.
