A rare Maling octagonal plate decorated with the Prunus pattern produced briefly in 1928-29. An early art deco design in black and white with masses of gilt overprinted to highlight the detail and give a luxurious finish. In great condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. The gilding is excellent. Printed Maling mark with painted pattern number 3576 and impressed date for 1929.
