A fine Spode dessert dish printed in medium blue on the improved 'Imperial' body introduced in 1825. A second version of the 'Union Wreath' design is used for the border and the centre uses a spray of flowers from 'Blue Rose'; a combination used for the new gadroon edge which had also just been introduced. In excellent condition, showing little signs of wear. Minor firing fault near handle, though nothing serious to detract from this rare item. Lovely scrolled handle with teardrop piercing. Printed Spode's Imperial in blue. Width 22cm (8.65in)
