Lovely Spode Sheet Pattern 'Leaf' Supper Dish Segment c1820 (Sold)

A very pretty early sheet pattern of stylised leaves and tendrils by Spode. The transfers could simply be cut to fit the shapes (and what a stunning shape this is to illustrate the technique perfectly) rather than producing a separate print for each shape. Originally part of a set which would have fitted a circular supper tray, this piece has survived in excellent condition. Underglaze blue Spode workman's mark (image 4). Width 33.5cm (13.2in).
