Lovely Spode 'Filigree' Pattern Soup Plate c1825 #2

A fine Spode indented soup plate printed in medium blue with a central basket of flowers framed with a circular band of leaves and flowers. The wide border is divided into six panels with sprays and baskets of flowers and the intervening areas decorated with small flowers and scrolls. A very pretty and 'fresh' looking design. Fine smooth colourless glaze. In good condition (there is a minor glaze fault/chip on the rim which is a stilt mark done at the time of manufacture - see image 4). Printed and impressed 'SPODE 27'. Diameter 24.1cm (9.5in)
