Lovely Gaudy Welsh Bone China Child's Mug c1840

Rare to find a mug of this age in such good condition; no chips, cracks or staining. Handpainted in iron red and cobalt blue, and then overpainted with lots of purple lustre which in itself shows little sign of wear. The inside rim is also decorated with flowers and panels. Holding 1 gill (.25 pint), this little mug is an absolute gem. Unmarked except for painters mark in lustre (circle and dot). Height 6.4cm (2.5in)
