A stunning and unusual early Carlton Ware bowl on three scrolled feet in blush ware on a vellum ground. Hand painted godetia sprays in pink and yellow cover both the inside and outside of the bowl; the edge trimmed with deep cobalt blue and delicately finished in gold. A superb, large piece in excellent condition; no damage or restoration and little sign of wear. Printed W & R Crown and Bluebird mark with Carlton Ware and painted pattern number 1162. Diameter 25.4cm (10in)
