Large Royal Doulton 'Pansies' Series Art Deco Octagon Shape Dish D4049 c1930 (Sold)

In production from 1917 to 1930, Royal Doulton's Pansies series has always been difficult to find and highly collectable. This stunning and large octagon shape dish is beautifully painted in the richest of colours and is in good condition, though it does have the usual glaze crazing and some minor staining (see image 3). There are also two large stilt marks on one edge which would have happened during manufacture (image 4). Still a fine example which displays beautifully. Full Royal Doulton mark in red with registration no. 597783, painted pattern no. D4049 and impressed date for 1930. Width 22cm (8.65in)
