A superb Leeds shape serving dish with a prominent image of the shepherd with crook and lantern, his dog sitting beside him, with sheep and a farmstead in the distance. Fine colours and in great condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. On very close inspection there are a few light scratches to the glaze near the centre of the dish, but nothing to detract from the display value of this impressive item. Royal Doulton mark with 'The Cotswold Shepherd' and painted series number D5561. Impressed date for October 1935. Diameter 23.75cm (9.4ins)
