A large jug depicting the shepherd with crook and lantern, his dog standing beside him with sheep and a village church in the distance. Two nice additional features are another image of the shepherd on the wide rim and a rabbit in grass on the reverse side. A lovely shape used exclusively for this design. Fine colours and in excellent condition - no chips, cracks, restoration or crazing. Looks like it's had little use. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Printed Royal Doulton mark with 'The Cotswold Shepherd' and painted series number D5561. Height 14cm (5.5in), width across the top including handle 21cm (8.25in)
