Large Mason's Patent Ironstone China 'Flying Bird' Pattern Hydra Jug c1880 (Sold)

Also known as Number 6 pattern, here is a large octagonal jug with a pale lustre rim and hydra handle in deep cobalt blue with rich gilt detail. Blue printed under the glaze with hand applied enamel colour and gilt line decoration. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find this size, especially in such good order. Mason's crown mark. Height 17.5cm (6.9in)
