Large Maling Blue Lustre 'Gladioli' Vase c1936 (Sold)

A large ribbed vase from Maling in one of the rarer 1930's lustre designs - 'Gladioli' gold print on a dark blue background. A stunning pattern with vibrant hand painted flower sprays in pink, yellow, blue and mauve on deep cobalt blue shaded to purple in places. The detail is then overprinted in gold to enhance the lustre effect. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some age related rubbing of the gilt round the rim, but it's such a rare and beautiful piece I feel this is acceptable and doesn't really detract. Printed Maling mark and painted pattern number 6322.
