A rare George Jones majolica double basket moulded in fine relief with pink flowering strawberry plants running round the rim and entwined round the rustic branch handles and feet. Bright, clear colours on a lovely turquoise ground. In reasonable antique condition with a couple of minor problems - a glazed factory chip to the rim (not immediately noticeable, see image 4) and one of the feet has been cleanly broken off and reglued (again not really noticeable). Still a fantastic piece that displays beautifully. Impressed George Jones monogram and design registration diamond for 16th February 1872 with painted number 3329A. Length 27.5cm (10.8in)
