Large Early Charlotte Rhead Crown Ducal 'Primula' Vase c1932 - Pattern 2033 (Sold)

A large Charlotte Rhead tube-lined ribbed shape 129 vase with naturalistic primroses enamelled in yellow, green and orange on a green ground. Beautiful grey/blue tube lining which must have been difficult to do on this textured shape. One of the earliest designs produced for A. G. Richardson and although not known with a pattern number, was given the number 2033 by Bernard Bumpus. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. A stunning early piece. Printed Crown Ducal mark, signed 'C Rhead' in grey/blue slip and tube-liner's mark '2'. Height 22.25cm (8.75in)
