A large and impressive ewer printed in medium blue with two scenes from Aesop's Fables, first introduced by Spode in the 1820's. One side features 'The Wolf and the Crane' and the other 'The Ass, the Lion and the Cock'. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. A rare series and shape to find, especially in such good order. Printed scrolls with titled scenes. Height with handle 30.5cm (12in)
