Large Clarice Cliff Fantasque Red 'Trees and House' Octagonal Plate c1930 (Sold)

A superb 9" octagonal plate in the rare red colourway of 'Trees and House' - an early Fantasque landscape of 1929. Boldly and thickly painted, it's a beautiful example of this classic art deco design. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. For accuracy, there is a tiny scratch on the first green hill on the left - so small the camera doesn't capture it and really only noticed under close scrutiny. Lithograph 'Fantasque by Clarice Cliff' signature mark and date impressed for 1930. Diameter 23cm (9in)
