Information
A superb art deco period wall plaque known as 'Lady with Beads' (sometimes called 'The Hyacinth Lady') designed by Miss Greaves in the mid 1930s. In the rarer satin matt finish and pastel shades, this stylish profile of a young woman with platinum blonde hair and pink necklace is beautifully painted - the skin tones are particularly good. Framed by clusters of blue hyacinth flowers, it really has some fine colouring. An exceptional piece in excellent condition - no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. For accuracy there is a small firing mark to the reverse (see image 5), part of the manufacturing process and nothing detrimental to this lovely rare item. Lightly printed Beswick Ware mark with impressed model number 436. Length 31cm (12.2in)
