A superb arcaded plate attributed to John Meir with a view from the 'Italian Scenery' series. Printed in medium blue with a river scene and a town with mountains in the background. The arcaded edge is painted in cobalt blue and has a fine 'basket weave' inner rim. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Lovely blue pearlware rippled glaze and single foot rim. Unmarked. Diameter 20.5cm (8in)
