Information
A large and impressive Hancock and Sons Morris Ware C27-3 vase designed by George Cartlidge. Skilfully tube lined with azaleas in shades of pink and green/blue on an ochre ground. The shape works beautifully with this lovely design. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Some mild age related crazing typical of these wares really only noticed underneath and stilt marks to the rim, though nothing to detract from the display qualities of this stunning vase. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Printed Morris Ware mark with Geo. Cartlidge signature and painted design reference C27-3. Height 32cm (12.6in)

Other examples of this shape are illustrated on page 100 of Tony Johnson's 'The Morris Ware, Tiles & Art of George Cartlidge'
