A fantastic pair of Hancock and Sons Morris Ware C2-13 vases designed by George Cartlidge. A lovely elegant shape, tube lined with cornflowers in shades of violet and blue on a blue/green ground. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Some minor age related crazing typical of these wares, really only noticed on close inspection and nothing to detract from these exceptional examples of English art nouveau. Rare to find pairs, especially in such good order. Printed Morris Ware marks with Geo. Cartlidge Des. signatures and painted design reference C2-13. Height 25cm (9.9in)
