Information
A fine indented plate printed in medium blue with a middle eastern scene of robbers entering an ancient tomb. Similar to the Spode Caramanian series scene, though it has a simple border of stringing and is thought to be closer to the original engraving. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. A rare pattern to find, especially in such good order. Unmarked except for an underglaze blue workman's mark. Some sources attribute the pattern to Robert Hamilton of Stoke (fl.1811-1826). Diameter 25.25cm (9.9in)
