An excellent World War 1 Grimwades 'Old Bill' wall plaque with the caption "GIVE IT A GOOD 'ARD' UN BERT. YOU CAN GENERALLY 'EAR EM FIZZING A BIT FIRST IF THEY ARE AGOIN TO EXPLODE". Unusual border of biplanes, exploding shells and trench debris. Printed in sepia with Bruce Bairnsfather signature. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some mild age related crazing typical of these wares, but nothing to detract from this fine example. Pierced foot rim for hanging. Grimwades globe backstamp. Diameter 24.75cm (9.75in)
