A fine Grimwade's Bruce Bairnsfather large dished plate depicting one of his World War One 'Old Bill' cartoons with the caption 'KEEPING HIS HAND IN' and a picture border of helmets, plum tins, buckets, flasks, etc. Printed in sepia with Bruce Bairnsfather signature. In great condition; usual fine crazing, but no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find in such good order. Marked on the back 'A Souvenir of the Great War, Commenced Aug 4th 1914; Armistice Nov 11th 1918; Peace Signed June 28th 1919. Bairnsfather Ware.
