Griffen, Smith & Hill (Etruscan) Turquoise Majolica Mug with Vine Leaves c1880

A rare and lovely turquoise mug by the American potters Griffen, Smith & Hill who produced Etruscan majolica. Embossed with vine leaves and a yellow rope trim to the base and a yellow loop handle, it's a stunning piece. In excellent condition, though there are the usual manufacturing blemishes (some colour misses on the rim - see image 3). Unmarked (they never are) but always attributed to Etruscan pottery.
