A superb and early Gaudy Welsh dragon handled jug in the vibrant 'Bethesda' pattern. Masses of iron red flowers with cobalt blue leaves and scrolls; highlights picked out in purple lustre. In great condition, although there is a hairline across one of the dragon feet where it joins the body of the jug. Nothing serious and barely noticed. The enamels are in excellent condition with no flaking and showing little sign of wear. All in all, a fantastic jug that displays beautifully. Impressed 'Ironstone China'. Height 16.5cm (6.5in)
