Fine Scottish Majolica Grape and Vine Leaf Plate c1880

A striking plate with a dark treacle glaze and vibrant green leaves and purple blue grapes. No cracks or restoration, although there is some surface wear comensurate with age and use, and a couple of glazed over footrim chips which occurred at the time of manufacture. Nothing serious and still a rare and beautiful display item. Unmarked, though I have had occasional ones in the past with the Alloa pottery mark. Diameter 23cm (9in)
