Early Staffordshire Mason's Style Ironstone China Plate c1820

 A lovely Mason's style indented plate in a striking 'Japan' pattern. A particularly nice feature are the four moulded scallop shells which form part of the border. Slight signs of wear, but nothing serious and commensurate with age; there is a small chip to the foot rim, barely noticeable (see image 4) - all in all, a stunning plate with a full Japan pattern which displays very well. Impressed 'ironstone china' and painted number '100' in red, possibly John Meir. Diameter 23.5cm (9.25in)
