Early Staffordshire Ironstone Snake Handled 'Hydra' Jug c1825

An early 'imari' pattern ironstone jug, octagonal in shape with a snake or 'hydra' handle. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration and little signs of wear to the enamelling. A bold and very freely painted jug with lots of character and the detail is emphasized with a pale orange lustre. Unmarked. Height 11.5cm (4.5in)
