A large Concord shape jug featuring several figures from the 'Egyptian A' series first introduced by Royal Doulton in 1911. The design of various ancient Egyptians and hieroglyphs is printed in sepia, the detail hand painted in greens, orange and yellow with a border of stylised papyrus. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Mild age related crazing typical of these wares, but nothing to detract from this lovely item. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Printed Royal Doulton mark and painted pattern number D3419. Height 21cm (8.25in)
