Information

A fantastic William Moorcroft Florian Ware biscuit barrel finely tube-lined with art nouveau poppies in delicate shades of blue. A lovely shape which complements the design beautifully. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Some age related crazing and minor staining to the base, typical of these wares. The silver plate has worn on the lid, but overall nothing to detract from the display value of this stunning example of Moorcroft pottery. Rare to find these early pieces in such good order. Printed James Macintyre Florian Ware mark with registration number 326471 and William's incised 'W. M. des' initials. Height to rim 14cm (5.5in)

A similar biscuit barrel is illustrated in Paul Atterbury's book, page 68, plate 1.
